    1. East Coast Natureworld East coast Natureworld is a premier wildlife and ecology park near Bicheno, in Tasmania’s east coast. The park is located on 65 hectares (150 acres) of natural parkland and lagoons, north of bicheno. Here, you can see free-ranging native Australian wildlife up close, including wombats, kangaroos, bettongs, koalas, pademelons, lorikeets, pelicans and swans. Natureworld also operates as a rescue, breeding and rehabilitation sanctuary for orphaned or injured wildlife.

    1. Apsley Gorge Vineyard Apsley Gorge Vineyard is near Bicheno, on the east coast, at the entrance to Apsley Gorge. The vineyard has one of the most stunning locations overlooking The Gulch in Bicheno, where the ocean swirls and crashes onto the rocks. The unique micro climate of this north-east facing valley produces distinctive cool climate wines, medal winning chardonnay and pinot. These wines are aged in French oak.

    1. Douglas-Apsley National Park Douglas-Apsley National Park is located a few kilometres north of Bicheno on Tasmania’s east coast. The beautiful park boasts dry sclerophyll forest and riverside walking tracks, swimming holes, birdlife and Oyster Bay pines. Walks include the 20-minute return stroll to the Apsley Waterhole, the three-hour Apsley Gorge circuit and the three-day north-south bushwalk through the park.

    1. Freycinet Vineyards Pty Ltd Freycinet Vineyard is a family-run vineyard and winery overlooking Tasmania's famed Freycinet National Park. Established in 1980 by Geoff and Susie Bull, the east coast site was selected for its ideal microclimate – long sunshine hours and lean soils that encourage vines to focus on fruit not foliage. The family tradition of winemaking is continued by their daughter Lindy and her husband Claudio Rodenti.

    1. Bicheno Golf Club Incorporated Bicheno Golf Club Incorporated offers a nine-hole course on Tasmania’s sunny east coast at Bicheno. The course is set in beautiful surrounds, with native trees lining the course and a coastal beach directly adjacent. Bicheno’s golf course is meticulously maintained and offers golfers a challenging round. You may even be fortunate to spot the resident deer and Cape Barren geese. Wildlife and abundant native parrots are a highlight of the course. You can play at the club seven days a week and golf clubs and buggies are available for hire.     1. Bicheno Dive Centre (Tour) Bicheno Dive Centre offers diving trips around Bicheno with guides for qualified divers in Tasmania. You can experience the superb diving waters off Bicheno, said to be one of the most exciting locations for undersea diving in Australia. You will explore magnificent sponge gardens and spectacular kelp forests. Most sites are within the Governors Island Marine Reserve, protected for its diverse underwater life. You may even spot whales and dolphins in the area during winter and early spring.

    1. Bicheno Penguin Tours Bicheno Penguin Tours takes you to see fairy penguins at dusk on Tasmania’s east coast. The nightly evening tours offer a rare and thrilling chance to visit a private rookery.     2. Bicheno's Glass Bottom Boat Bicheno’s Glass Bottom Boat operates from Bicheno, on Tasmania's east coast from September through April. The cool temperate waters offer excellent viewing of the creatures that live there and the luxuriant and rarely seen plant life is a spectacle itself. Your guide has many years of experience and can offer comprehensive and knowledgeable interpretation. Every day is different and the effect of the East Australian current is at times dramatic with many different life forms travelling in it.
